We want your feedback on convention, so be sure to visit Facebook and answer today's question.
Back-to-School Kit Survey
This 2014-15 school year, National PTA launched the new and improved digital PTA Back to School Kit. We invite local leaders to complete the Back to School Kit Survey. You have the opportunity to share your thoughts on the format, content and usability of this year's kit and be entered into a drawing for $500 for your PTA.
Let's end this year BIG! Support National PTA
If you haven't already, support National PTA throughout the season of giving. There is still time to give back by Dec. 31. As we approach the new year to support every child, we ask for your support in reaching our new goal of $10,000.
Across the country, schools and communities are facing challenges and budget shortfalls, and as a result, important lessons and opportunities are being left out. Our PTAs are working hard to fill the gaps and National PTA is here to help.
Make sure that every child has a bright future with your tax-deductible gift this holiday season and donate today.

Bylaws Revision Update
The bylaws revision process is well underway. Thanks to all of you who submitted suggestions this fall.
We had a great response from PTA stakeholders and now National PTA’s bylaws and policy committee is considering member input as it drafts a revised set of bylaws.
The committee’s recommendations will be presented to National PTA’s Board of Directors in January and to state leaders and attendees at the Bylaws Town Hall during the 2015 National PTA Legislative Conference to be held March 10-12, 2015.
Board Basics E-Learning Course in Spanish
National PTA is excited to announce that the Board Basics e-learning course is now available in Spanish. The course—Conceptos Básicos Para Las Juntas—provides training to Spanish-speaking members who want to understand the basic governance structures behind most local PTA units.

Stop Oversharing: Teens & Identity Theft
Today’s teens have grown up with social media and smartphones. But how many of them truly understand or take appropriate steps to help avoid risks associated with them?
Turns out, not as many as we’d like to think. Our generation is still learning about identity theft. But with a little advice from us, hopefully our teens won’t have to. LifeLock is an identity theft protection company and proud sponsor of the National PTA.
Building Hope
In January, employees from Lifetouch Photography will join educators, principals, administrators and PTA members on a Lifetouch Memory Mission to build a school in the Dominican Republic.
In 2011 and 2012, volunteers built an elementary school that serves hundreds of children who otherwise would not have received an education. In 2014, volunteers began work on a vocational school for the community. This January, volunteers will complete the second floor of the vocational school. Learn more at LifetouchMemoryMission.com.
