 “Food for Thought” Training Seminar

The Impact of the Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights

There’s a growing consensus among federal officials that online privacy needs stronger protection. On February 23, The White House released the Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights, deemed a blueprint for improving consumer privacy protection by setting basic principles to help businesses guide their privacy and policy decisions.   What does this really mean for consumers and for federal employees who need to regularly visit and do business through other web sites?  Privacy as well as records retention schedules and FOI searches for responsive records could all be impacted.   This cross-cutting issue will be discussed in an open forum, featuring Lillie Coney and a representative from a federal agency. Presenters are:

-         Lillie Coney, Associate Director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) in Washington, DC.

-         Federal Agency Representative to be confirmed
