Response to Study on ADHD and Organophosphates in Pediatrics Journal

WASHINGTON (May 17, 2010) – The results of a study were published this weekend in Pediatrics that link organophosphates to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children. The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) believes that continued research on issues affecting children’s health is extremely important. We are closely monitoring and studying this issue and recommend that more research is needed before a conclusion is reached.

Click here to read a statement from CropLife America (CLA) regarding the results of the study published in Pediatrics. Issue points regarding the study are available here. CLA represents the developers, manufacturers, formulators and distributors of plant science solutions for agriculture and pest management in the United States. CLA member companies produce, sell and distribute virtually all the crop protection and biotechnology products sold to agricultural retailers and distributors and used by American farmers.

ARA continues to follow all developments related to the study published in Pediatrics. For more information regarding the study, ARA encourages members to contact Rex Runyon with CLA at (202) 296-1585.
